Mentoring is a catalyst for personal and professional growth and it’s for everyone. Mentoring is all about facilitating your own development and working together with your mentor to achieve your goals, and to develop your employability. Our mentoring programmes provide support to all current University of Brighton students, whether you are an undergraduate, postgraduate, part-time or full-time student or apprentice.
Our mentors are trained professionals who volunteer their time because they want to share their knowledge, skills, and experience to make a difference. They come from all over the UK and some are in different parts of the world, so sessions usually take place online, but there may be the possibility of meeting in person in a public place if your mentor lives locally.
There are a range of programmes for you to choose from, to support either your general development, or specifically for finding employment:
These 4 - 6-month programmes are for all current students and focus on supporting you to achieve goals that you set for yourself. In three of the five programmes, mentor and student will share lived experience and common ground.
These 6-week programmes support students in getting recruitment ready. Whether you are looking for a part-time job, summer internship, graduate programme or graduate job, these are for you.
